Chapter 63.1

Hi friends! Xixi is back permanently! Yay! 2018 ended with a bang, but not a good bang… I ended up in the hospital too many times, and was finally diagnosed with VCD after being misdiagnosed with asthma for so many years. Then we had common applications due on Jan 1 and 2. So #rip to any kind of New Year Parties I could’ve attended. Xixi applied to universities in Canada and the US. (#pray that I can get into university or rip my soul 2k19). But we are finally back for good.

Now comes to the big question, someone finished translating Good Morning Miss Ghost on another site. I’m definitely going to continue translating here, but here’s the question.

Should I)

  1. focus on finishing Good Morning Miss Ghost and power through with a burning fire
  2. focus on finish Good Morning Miss Ghost but also start on a new project at the same time (GMMG will be slow)
  3. put up a page of summaries of good books I want to translate next and you guys can tell me your opinions

comment below!!!!!!!

SISTERS. I’LL BE 18 THIS YEAR. SOME OF YALL HAVE KNOWN ME SINCE I WAS 15.

CHAPTER 63.1

Kai Huang’s annual cocktail party was usually held in May or June. Aside from the company’s employees and artists, some celebrities and investors in the circle would also receive invitations. To put it bluntly, the purpose of this cocktail party was to create an opportunity for people to hug golden thighs.

(TN: golden things = associating with people that have a lot of money so you could possibly leech opportunities and etc off of them)

Since Li Yan, an ordinary civilian, had never participated in such an upper class social event, it didn’t come as a surprise when she rummaged through her closet and discovered that she didn’t have any suitable dresses to wear to this occasion. Glancing at the pile of clothes that had been thrown into a hideous mess, Li Yan finally gave up her struggle and sat down on the bed.

It looked like she could only buy a dress tomorrow.

The thought of having to spend money was painful; although she had just been paid, her 5,000 dollar salary would have to go through income tax and insurance deductions. As for the rest…There might not be enough to buy such high-end clothes.

Why did she have to spend all of her money when she had just gotten paid? Qwq

  #very tired, I feel like I’ll never love again#

(TN: baidu-sama says it means that there were many annoying things that had happened recently. When everything is over, they will sigh and feel tired and do not think they will love again)

Fortunately, Tang Qiang had shortened her trial period to only a month. Starting next month, she would receive the salary of a formal employee. Tang Qiang stated that it was because Mo Zhen had praised her work performance- although he did not know how an assistant who couldn’t drive could be praised highly, he still raised her monthly salary to 8,000.

There was simply no free time for her to go out and spend money as her daily schedule was full from following Mo Zhen around. Evenmore, her housing and eating expenses were covered by living in Mo Zhen’s house. Her salary has not moved since being wired to her bank card. At this rate, she’ll soon become a little rich woman!

After thinking in this perspective, Li Yan’s heart finally felt comfortable.

Due to the reception in the evening, the scheduled scenes were shot in advance so that the crew could finish work early. Li Yan glanced at the time; she had only slept for three hours. This non-stop work was taking its toll on her lifespan.

Li Yan yawned as she walked downstairs. Mo Zhen was already sitting in the living room for breakfast. He seemed to be accustomed to the lifestyle of sleeping two to three hours. Although there was a hint of tiredness in his expression, he looked refreshed compared to Li Yan.

”Morning, Zhen Zhen.” Li Yan picked up the milk on the table and poured until it reached the half-mark on her cup. “Can I take a half-day off today?”

Mo Zhen looked up at her and took a bite of the freshly baked bread, “Do you have something to do?”

”I want to buy clothes for the evening reception.” Li Yan sat down on the chair, struggling to keep her eyes open.

Mo Zhen’s movements suddenly paused and glanced at the person who was dying beside him, “No need, I’ll go with you after work today.”

”Oh.” Li Yan grabbed a piece of bread in her hands. Her body slipped in the direction of the bottom of the chair; her words sounded like she was sleep talking in a dream.

Mo Zhen laughed, he walked up to her and tousled her soft black hair, “Go upstairs and sleep if you’re feeling this tired. I’ll call you in the afternoon once I finish work.”

”No need, I’m not sleepy!” Forcing herself to open her eyes, Li Yan sat up straight and bit the piece of bread that was about to fall. “I’ll be fine once I finish eating!”

Mo Zhen looked down at her for a while and whispered, “Don’t push yourself so hard, your health is more important.”

”Zhen Zhen, you’re the one who needs rest. If you’re like this filming everyday, your body won’t be able to handle it!” She could slack off on the sidelines, but Mo Zhen was always filming. In terms of effort, there were no words to describe how much more hard-working Mo Zhen was compared to her.

Mo Zhen silently chuckled and walked to the chair in front of her to sit down,”I’m already used to it, but you don’t have to force yourself.”

”I’m your assistant, of course I want to be with you!” Although the boss often gives her the opportunity to skip work, she is an employee with professional morals!

Oh.. Mo Zhen held his chin and paused to stare at her.

Li Yan was a little embarrassed by his stare. She touched her nose and asked tentatively, “What’s wrong?” Did she say something bad?

”Nothing. Eat.” Mo Zhen took away his gaze and continued to solve the breakfast in front of him.

”Oh.” Li Yan looked at the time and quickly picked up her bread.

After sleeping in the car for half an hour, Li Yan’s spirit had significantly improved by the time they arrived at the studio. Mo Zhen, on the other hand, was only able to rest for a moment while the makeup artist was putting on his makeup. Li Yan felt guilty as she watched him. The last car accident was just an accident. She still had plenty of life in her hands. Every time she talked to Mo Zhen about driving, he would reject her with a stoic expression –  there was no room for negotiation.

”Ghost School” had been filming continuously for two months and the crew was beginning to enter into a slump. The director took advantage of the early dismissal today and decided to give everyone a day off tomorrow, which was responded with cheers from everyone on set. Motivated by their day-off, the efficiency of everyone’s work instantly increased. Even Li Yan was moved to tears. Holiday! Holiday! She was finally having a legitimate day off!

”Even if there’s no shooting tomorrow, I still have other work.” Mo Zhen, who had taken a break and was catching up on sleep, suddenly opened his eyes and glanced at Li Yan.

The little tears in Li Yan’s eyes were forced back into her eyelids. She looked at Mo Zhen incredulously, as if she was staring at Zhou Yupi, “What work?”

(TN: Zhou Yupi is a bully landlord from a book called Midnight Chicken Calls, basically he made the chickens call early to wake up the labourers and was generally hated)

”A photoshoot for “TOMATO” magazine.” Mo Zhen answered very briefly, and then continued to close his eyes after speaking.

  Li Yan: “…”

Emperor Mo was simply a work madman.

The expression on her face changed multiple times. In the end, she decided to speak sincere and heartfelt words, “Emperor Mo, too much work can lead to increased risk of early death.”

  Mo Zhen: “…”

Was she cursing him or giving him advice?

Emperor Mo’s mouth twitched. He then closed his eyes and continued to sleep.

Please finish translating this first!! The person who took over the translation during your absence should not have had time for it as it was a non edited machine translation… very hard on the eyes…

  6. Lily says:

Please finish translating this novel. I, too, had a headache trying to finish reading the other translation. There were tons of pronoun errors that I got really confused. Good luck with your interview!

Welcome Back. I chose no 1. Although someone other site had finished translating this novel but not as smooth as yours translation. I understand in Chinese that he maybe a she….and it is so hard to read who is who. Knowing it was supposed to be a she then ended up to he. Ie, She asked him something and waiting for her the answer….”huh???”…..who asked who or what??

So I patiently waiting for you to come back to finish this novel. I also prefer for you to finish this novel first before begin another one so that you can focus on this finish it sooner than later please. Thanking you very much.

I also wish and hope that you get into the universities that your heart’s desire for. 😀

Welcome back! Praying that you get into the universities you desired!
I choose no. 1! although the other site may have finished translating the novel, I’m pretty sure its machine translated. So when I read it, I had a hard time understanding the story, which made me supeer disappointed. Would really appreciate if you could continue to translate! Especially since your translation is so much better and I can see the work you put in it!

Welcome back Xixi! I chose #2. I really like the book “I Seem Unsuited for Dating”. The original translator seemed to stop translating.. Here’s a brief description on novel updates.

One day, two forum posts titled “I Seem Unsuited for Dating” appeared on Promontory Forum’s Feelings board nearly at the same time.

User A: 「I have a severe case of mysophobia and possessiveness. I cannot accept it if my girlfriend has had relationship experience. I went to see a psychiatrist, but I haven’t improved. I might truly be unsuited for dating.」

User B: 「I think I might be unsuited for dating. I very much enjoy the ambiguous phase of sounding out each other’s feelings, but after becoming official, if they want to hug me, or perhaps kiss me, I will immediately feel nauseous.」

Internet User: 「I beseech that the two of you be together. Don’t go and harm anyone else.」
